A Week in Paradise: Our Stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean
Earlier this month, Tammy and I had the pleasure of spending a beautiful week at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica. We stayed in the new Balmoral Building in a BBT room, and it was everything we hoped it would be—modern, elegant, and perfectly designed for relaxation. The room featured a serene balcony view, plush furnishings, and all the thoughtful touches Sandals is known for. Whether we were enjoying coffee in the morning breeze or winding down after dinner, the Balmoral quickly became one of our favorite accommodations yet.
One of the best parts of this trip was exploring all of the resort’s restaurants—and we made sure to try every one of them at least once. Each dining experience brought something special to the table, from romantic seaside dinners to laid-back island bites. The variety of cuisines and the quality of the food truly impressed us. From flavorful Caribbean dishes to perfectly grilled steaks, fresh seafood, and creative desserts, Sandals once again reminded us why their culinary reputation is so well deserved. Every meal felt like a new adventure.
On our last day, we took advantage of the “Stay at One, Play at Two” exchange program and spent the day at Sandals Montego Bay, the sister resort just down the road. The beach there is absolutely stunning—soft white sand, turquoise water, and plenty of space to unwind. We had lunch at Soy, the resort’s sushi restaurant, and later enjoyed dinner at my personal favorite, Tokyo Joe’s, where the chefs cooked up fresh stir fry right in front of us. The energy, the flavors, and the fun atmosphere made it the perfect way to wrap up our trip.
The weather was incredible all week, and sharing this experience with our son Ryan and daughter-in-law Katelin made it even more special. Traveling together created memories we’ll treasure for a long time—laughs over dinner, and simply enjoying the island life as a family.
Next up for us is Sandals Dunn’s River in Ocho Rios this coming April. We’ll be vacationing with our best friends, Scott and Cherrie Hamilton, and we can’t wait to experience this brand-new resort together. If it’s anything like our recent stay, we know we’re in for another unforgettable adventure.
